Terms of Service — Scrolld®

The agreement governing use of the Scrolld platform: what the service does, account registration, and the rules for stories you publish, share and export.

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Scrolld OÜ ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Scrolld OÜ is an AI-powered data storytelling platform. You can select any safe local file; we extract readable content where supported and generate interactive, animated data stories using artificial intelligence. Stories can be published, shared, and exported.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
  • One person or entity per account; account sharing is not permitted

  • Free tier: Limited features as described on our pricing page
  • Paid plans (Creator, Studio, Team, Business): Billed monthly or annually via Paddle (Merchant of Record)
  • All prices are in EUR unless otherwise stated
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • Refunds: see our Refund Policy
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

    • 5. Your Data & Content

    5.1 Ownership

    You retain full ownership of all data you upload and all stories generated from your data. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

    5.2 License to Us

    You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your data and stories solely to provide the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.

    5.3 Published Stories

    When you publish a story to the public feed, you grant other users a non-exclusive, read-only license to view, share (via link), and like the story. You may unpublish at any time to revoke this license.

    5.4 AI Processing

    Your uploaded data is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis and story generation. We send only the data necessary for story creation (column profiles and sample rows). Anthropic does not use your data for model training per their commercial terms.

    6. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

  • Upload child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — instant account suspension and mandatory report to NCMEC
  • Upload malicious files, malware, or content that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
  • Use the Service to generate misleading or deliberately deceptive content
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or plan restrictions
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the Service

    • 7. Intellectual Property

    The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, and branding, is owned by Scrolld OÜ and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Scrolld OÜ name, logo, and brand elements are trademarks of Scrolld OÜ.

    8. Disclaimer of Warranties

    THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT AI-GENERATED STORIES WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING AND VALIDATING ANY GENERATED CONTENT BEFORE PUBLISHING OR DISTRIBUTING IT.

    9. Limitation of Liability

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Scrolld OÜ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

    10. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days
  • Sections 5.1, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination

    • 11. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Tallinn, Estonia.

    12. Changes

    We may update these Terms with 30 days' notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
